Nutrition Challenge Update
For those that participated in the Nutrition Challenge, thank you!. It was a long, grueling challenge, but you guys stuck through it. Congratulations.
1. Most strict adherence
Based on weekly progress reports, and stipulations set at the beginning, most strict adherence goes to…
Aimee Brandt
This category was a tough one. Jezel almost tied in this category with Aimee, but the tie breaker had to go to Aimee. Halfway through the challenge, Aimee did not see much change in body composition. For those that know Aimee, I think it is safe to say that she doesn’t need to change body comp. However, she was able to make modifications to her diet by eliminating excess nuts and adding more protein. Every individual is different, and diet is an extremely personal project. Aimee was able to identify how she felt and make small, effective changes.
2. Most improved body composition results (will be based off of percentage of inches lost from measurements)
This area was tough, because we couldn’t account for changes in muscle mass. In Aimee’s case, she actually increased muscle mass in some areas which was apparent in strength P.R.’s. However, as data was being collected, there was a clear winner:
Michel Rivera
Michel lost a total of 9.25inches. 9.25 INCHES!! That is an entirely different person. It’s hard to see the changes when you see someone everyday, but the measurements don’t lie. Jezel came in second with a total loss of 7 inches. I have NO IDEA how Jezel could have lost so much. Jezel, good thing you got stronger, otherwise I would be worried. Andy lost a total of six inches. For those that have known Andy since October, he has actually lost a total of 5-6inches off of his waist since then.
3. Best workout result improvements
This category was a tough one to gather results for. Almost everyone in the gym improved on these workouts, and Jezel, Aimee, and Andy were among the most dramatic increases. However, there was one, clear, standout winner:
Andy Shourds
Andy came in the gym for 5 days on this last week and P.R.’d on every single exercise. Andy dropped 6 secs on a 500M Row, 6 secs on a 400M Run, 1 min 10 seconds on Helen, increased his backsquat AND clean and jerk. Jezel improved her Helen time by 35 seconds, took 2 seconds off of her 400M run time, 6 seconds from her 500M Row, and 1 minute off of her Grace time. Jezel also increased her backsquat AND deadlift numbers. Aimee also increased her backsquat P.R., press P.R. and improved her Helen time.
4. Best Overall
Finally, with 2nd place in category, the clear winner for best overall goes to:
Jezel Bow
Shirt designs are still be finalized. Please be patient, our design guy is super busy and super awesome, and you can’t rush awesome.
Prizes will be presented at the Nutrition Challenge party on Friday. If you will not be there, you can pick them up after Friday at the gym.
