How this works:
I would like start this week by defining the terms we will use at Carlsbad CrossFit. Let’s start with the structure of our workouts
The Buy In: Each day will consist of a BUY IN. A term borrowed from poker, if you wish to play the game you have to pay the buy in. In our case the BUY IN will consist of power lifting, olympic lifting, gymnastic skill work, or running technique.
The WOD: In the CrossFit vernacular we use the term WOD to mean workout of the day. This is the workout you will perform for the day. These workouts are designed to be functional, varied, and intense.
The Cash Out: Often, after the workout we will perform mobility work to help enhance recovery after the workouts. Sometimes the cash outs will consist of gymnastic skill or strength work.
AMRAP: This stands for As Many Rounds as Possible within the prescribed time. You will perform the sequence of prescribed moves as each round.
Deadlift 3-5-7 – In today’s buy-in, you will perform the deadlift. You will perform a 3 rep, 5 rep, or 7 rep max deadlift. If you have never performed a deadlift, or a max deadlift, fear not we will work with your technique to a reasonable load.
